Emanuele J. Falcone, Sr., 80, of Lakeland, passed away Saturday at Crouse Hospital. A life resident of Syracuse, he was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War. Dedicated to his work, he was the head mechanic and later Director of Transportation for the Solvay School District for 30 years before retiring in 1993. His memberships included the, Geddes Vets, DAV, Stanley B. Pennock VFW Post #2893, Camillus Elks Lodge, Korean War Veterans Association, both local and international, and he was a founder of the NYS Head Mechanics Association. He was predeceased by his parents Salvatore and Anna (Cafa) Falcone and grandson Joseph Falcone.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, the former Dolores Rutherford, 2 daughters; Cynthia (Neil) Falcone-DenBleyker, of Howlett Hill and Pam (Kevin) McGann, of Cold Springs, 2 sons; Manny (Mary) and Scott (Sue) Falcone, both of Lakeland, a sister; Grace Corrente, of Camillus, 5 grandchildren; Allysa, EJ, Gabrielle, Brandon and Olivia, 3 step-grandchildren, 5 step-great grandchildren, 2 nieces; Karen Corrente and Phyllis Bernardelli and 2 great nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted at 9:15 am Wednesday in BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME and 10 am at Our Lady of Peace Church, Lakeland, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Warners. Calling hours are from 4 to 7 pm Tuesday at the funeral home, 2601 Milton Avenue.
