

Richard J. “Dick” Fortino, Sr., 78, of Solvay, passed away Wednesday May 1, 2013 at home. He was born in Syracuse to the late Alfonso and Caroline (Aiello) Fortino and graduate of North High School. Dick was employed by Deli-Boy Provisions as a warehouse manager for many years before retiring. He was a communicant of St. Cecilia Church, a member of the Solvay Geddes Veterans and an avid bowler and golfer. Dick was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Louis Fortino.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, the former Mary Jane (DeStefano), 2 sons; Richard, Jr. and Michael, both of Solvay, a daughter; Jaime, of Syracuse, 3 grandchildren; Corey Fortino, of Solvay, Vannessa St. Denis and Joseph Fortino, both of E. Syracuse, a sister; Constance Missigman, of N. Syracuse, a brother; Alfonso (Evangeline) Fortino, Jr., of Fayetteville, a sister-in-law; Joanne DeStefano, of Solvay, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 am in BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, Solvay. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum, Syracuse. Calling hours are Sunday from 1 to 4 pm at BAGOZZI TWINS FUNERAL HOME, 2601 Milton Ave.
