Florence Deveney

Mrs. Deveney was daughter of the late Leonel T. and Stella E. (Kosowicz) Autote of Fall River, MA, and sister of the late Leonel Autote.

Mrs. Deveney leaves a son, John Deveney (Ellen) of Plainville, MA, and three daughters, Susan Deveney, Cathy Rebello (David), and Joyce Cadorette (Neal) all of Somerset, MA. Mrs. Deveney also leaves eight grandchildren, Sarah, Jacob, Abigail, Reaghan, Matthew, Ryan, Caitlyn, and Nathan, and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Deveney was a graduate of St. Stanislaus School and Durfee High School. She was formerly employed by the Silkson’s Clothier Company, Grants Department Store, and Somerset Public School Department. She was the former Treasurer, Vice President, and President of the St. Stanislaus Credit Union.

Mrs. Deveney was an active communicant of St. Stanislaus Parish, Fall River, MA, wherein she was the member of the Women’s Guild, Holy Rosary Society, and a volunteer at the annual Polish Festival and Parish School. She was a recipient of the Marian Medal from the Diocese of Fall River.

The joys of her life were simple: Her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren, and a great summer afternoon walking and enjoying the beach with her husband.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral, which will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025 at 8:30AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Rose E. Sullivan, 866 County St., Somerset, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in St. Stanislaus Church, Rockland St., Fall River. Interment will take place at Notre Dame Cemetery in Fall River. A wake will be held in the funeral home on January 2, 2025, between the hours of 4:00PM to 7:00PM.
