Helen C. Powers

Born in Portland, ME, daughter of the late Benjamin and Mary (Purdum) Clancey, she graduated from Mt. Vernon, NY High School and New York Hospital School of Nursing. Mrs. Powers was a registered nurse, spending most of her life as a homemaker, and a volunteer at local hospitals.

Surviving: nine children Harry T. Powers Jr. and his wife Catharine, Nancy Flem and her husband Per, Debby Ryan and her husband Jim, Kathleen Maladowitz and her husband Ken, Jane Powers, Maryellen Powers, Edward Powers and his wife Kate, Dr. Robert Powers and his wife Maryanne, and Pamela Guinen and her companion Joseph Lopes, 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was mother of the late Suzanne Powers, mother in law of the late Tim Guinen and sister of the late Robert Clancey.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Friday, December 27, 2013 at 10:00AM in St. Thomas More Church, 386 Luther Avenue, Somerset. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her honor can be made to the Southcoast VNA Hospice, 200 Mill Road, Fairhaven, MA 02719. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
