I remember coming into the store when I first moved to Berkley, John was there and asked if I was new in town. I realized in that moment the town of Berkley was that small! John was so warm and welcoming it made me truly feel a sense of community. Over the years as I got to know John it was apparent how caring, warm, and funny he was- he always made me laugh even if I wasn’t in a laughing mood! He had such a caring heart and a wonderful sense of pride for our town, he was always holding events to raise money for those in need or celebrate our successes. His laugh and smile will eternally be in my heart and I’m very thankful to have had him in my life. To his family, I wish you peace and comfort at this time and please know the community is here to support you. He will forever be missed.

John was a great man. Will never forget his dry sense of humor and his willingness to help others . Worked for John and Elizabeth at the Berkley Junction in 2002. John always had a “new “ invention he wanted to create . He will be sorely missed. Prayers to his family.

Elizabeth and family - No words can express how I feel with John leaving on his newfound journey at such a youg age- may peace be with you all at this time and continue to share all your good memmories that you had made. Talk, laugh, and keep his memory alive.
I have only known John for 10 year, when he started to buy gasoline from me - within that time we have talked when ordering gas and when the restaurant opened we enjoyed some lunchs and dinners with family and friends. Such a great guy - He will be missed by many and will always be within my heart- may he be at peace. Love Millie
