Born in Fall River, Julie was the daughter of the late Richard and Ella (Simister) Joynt. She was raised in Tiverton and later moved to Somerset in 1956, where she built a life centered on family, faith, and care for others.
Julie was a graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, Class of 1952 and worked for 19 years at the former Fall River National Bank. In 1971, she chose to dedicate herself fully to her family, becoming a devoted stay-at-home mother and homemaker—a role she embraced with pride and grace.
A faithful communicant of St. Patrick’s Church in Somerset for nearly 70 years, Julie found comfort and strength in her faith and enjoyed reading her Bible. She took great pleasure in tending to her garden and cherished the time she spent with her family and friends, who will remember her for her warmth, kindness, and quiet strength.
She is survived by her son, Scott R. Collins and his wife Tammy of East Freetown; her granddaughters, Andrea L. Loebenberg and her husband Eric of Winston-Salem, N.C.; and Ella Collins of East Freetown; her step-granddaughter, Brittany Simoneau and her husband Daniel of Dartmouth; and her great-grandchildren, Ezra, Isaac, Joel and Olivia. She also leaves behind several loving nieces and nephews. Julie was predeceased by her brothers, William and Richard Joynt; and a sister Barbara Joynt.
Her Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick’s Church, 306 South Street, Somerset. Relatives and friends are invited directly to church. Burial will be private.
