Lawrence D. Amaral, age 90, of Somerset, passed away Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Charlton Memorial Hospital, Fall River. He was the loving husband of Vivian S. (Cordeiro) Amaral, with whom he shared sixty-eight years of marriage.
Born in Fall River, a son of the late Joseph and Francelina (Pina-Phillipe) Amaral, he was a life-long resident of the area.
Mr. Amaral was the owner and operator of Somerset Paint and Hardware for over fifty years. Larry was an avid skier and enjoyed traveling.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Donna Amaral and her partner David Shepardson of Fall River and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Henry Amaral, Alice Oliveira and Joseph Amaral, Jr.
His funeral will be held Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at 9:00 AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Rose E. Sullivan, 866 County Street, Somerset followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas More Church, 386 Luther Avenue, Somerset. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation will be held Tuesday, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Somerset.
