OBITUARIO

Maureen D. Millerick

20 agosto , 19317 marzo , 2021

Maureen (Dalton) Millerick, age 89, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2021 in St. Anne’s Hospital. She was the wife of the late Robert W. Millerick to whom she was married for 59 years before his passing in 2012.

Born in Fall River a daughter of the late William J. and Mary (Munro) Dalton she had been a resident of Somerset for 50 years.

A graduate of Dominican Academy in Fall River she went on to work as an Operator for the former New England Bell now Verizon for 22 years before retiring in 1987.

Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was young at heart and able to connect with all ages, always had good advice and was genuinely interested in other people’s passions and stories.

She loved to browse gift shops and department stores with her loved ones in mind. It seemed like she was always in the process of assembling the parts to a special gift, usually months before an occasion. One of her favorite pastimes was knitting at home and with her knitting circle in Fall River. She completed ambitious knitting projects, but delighted in making simple squares she gave as keepsake reminders of her love.

She enjoyed fine dining and going out on the town. She traveled extensively throughout her life to visit family and friends as well as for leisure in the United States and Europe. She especially liked visiting Ohio and Kentucky to see her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren who affectionately called her The Great One.

She is survived by two daughters, Karen A. Gariepy and her husband (Paul) of Swansea and Cynthia M. Christy and her husband (Mitchell) of McGaheysville, VA; four grandchildren, Keryn Gilmore and her husband (Jason), Carolyn Grimes and her husband (David), Jon Paul Gariepy and his fiancée (Deb Morel) and David Gariepy; three great-grandchildren, Liam Gilmore, Aurora Grimes and Lucia Morel Donovan and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late William Dalton and Charles Dalton.

Due to current restrictions, services will be private. The family plans to have a celebration of her life at a future date. To leave a note of condolence please visit, www.waring-sullivan.com Contributions in her honor may be made to the charity of your choice.

Heard the sad news of Maureen's passing in church on Saturday.........
Maureen & I came to know each other at Somerset Ridge Rehab. as roommates recovering from surgery and became friends quickly wishing we had met sooner. She was a caring & special lady who loved her family dearly and we spoke of them often. Her daughter Karen was always there for her and grandson David too. It was nice getting to know each other and at the same time getting well. Deepest Condolences to all God Bless Maureen,

One very moment I remember we decided to wipe down your dad's 1964 Chevrolet and thought we did a great thing, and he was upset because we scratched it!!!

Loved your dear parents, God's Blessing"s to you and family,

My Aunt my friend

We lost you today - I loved you very much-
We talked often but now I feel not enough
Last we spoke you said you was sick but you kept fighting through it- I thought I would see you again- my heart is broken

I’ve looked up to you all my life - you gave me the foundation to which I hold dearly- the matriarch of our family

I will miss your laugh- your smile when you knew you was up to no good but did it anyway-Love you Auntie-Rest in Peace!
