Sandra (Bennett) Motler, age 81, of Taunton, formerly of Rehoboth, passed away at home on Saturday, April 22, 2023, surrounded by family. She was the loving wife of David I. Motler, to whom she had been married for 61 years.
Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Roger and Elizabeth (Carpenter) Bennett.
Sandra graduated from East Providence High School, Class of 1959, and was the Secretary at the Rehoboth Congregational Church at the time of her retirement. Previously, she had been a waitress at the Country Kitchen in Seekonk for many, many years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by their two daughters, Diane Martin of Taunton, and Deborah Gobeille and her husband Keith of Berkley; three siblings, Roger Bennett of Georgia, Linda Tobin, and Paul Bennett both of Rehoboth, her sister-in-law, Joyce Ainsworth of England, as well as many nieces and nephews. Sandra was the sister of the late June Horton, Nancy Larrabee, and John and William Bennett, and sister-in-law to the late Walter Ainsworth.
Above all else, Sandra loved being with family. She was a caring, loving person who was always happy to help in any way possible. She enjoyed her involvement in the Church, including her after church visits at June’s house with whomever happened to be around. She adored her little chihuahua, Meeko, her late poodle, Baby, and absolutely any and all children and animals who crossed her path. In earlier years, she loved dancing with her husband, their time in Margate, Florida, visiting with family from England, Zumba, and water aerobics with her friends. She loved to read, do crossword and search-a-word puzzles, and take nature walks. She loved her husband’s gardens and the birds and critters they attracted.
Her Funeral Service will be held at the Rehoboth Congregational Church on Saturday, May 13th, at 11:00 am, with burial to follow in Rehoboth Village Cemetery. Collation to take place in Fellowship Hall at the Church immediately following. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory to the Rehoboth Congregational Church, 139 Bay State Road, Rehoboth, MA 02769, are appreciated.
