William H. “Billy” Parsons, III, age 60, of Berkley, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2025, at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the beloved and devoted companion of Harriet E. Dell’Anno, with whom he shared the last seven years of his life.
Born in Carlisle, MA, and raised on the South Shore, Billy was the son of the late William H. Parsons, Jr. and Vivian F. (Vano) Parsons. A skilled electrician by trade, Billy was a true craftsman whose talents extended across multiple disciplines. From electrical work to automotive restoration, he had a deep passion for working with his hands and took great pride in building and creating—especially when it came to cars. His most recent project was a 1929 Model A hot rod, a true labor of love.
Music was the heartbeat and soul of Billy’s life. As a passionate musician and multi-instrumentalist, playing the guitar was his true calling. Billy was never more at home than when he was on stage playing the music he loved and anyone who has seen him perform can attest to that. Billy also had a quieter side. He loved cooking and creating meals for those he loved. Billy brought joy, warmth, and humor to every moment. He was known for his quick wit, infectious laugh, and the uncanny ability to lift the spirits of everyone around him. Five minutes in his company often meant five minutes of laughter.
Billy’s greatest joy came from time spent with his family and friends. His love of music, craftsmanship, and culinary flair were matched only by his deep devotion to those he cared about.
In addition to Harriet, Billy is survived by his loving siblings: Loretta Platt and her husband Norman of Marshfield, MA; Vincent “Vinny” Schlenker and his wife Susan of Holbrook, MA; Cynthia “Cindy” Groeneveld and her husband Peter of Orange Park, FL; Victoria Parsons Campanile and her husband Joseph of North Port, FL; Emily Parsons Kristnofe and her husband William of East Weymouth, MA; and Rachel Parsons and her husband James Butler of Taunton, MA. He also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and friends whose lives he touched with kindness and laughter.
Private arrangements are entrusted to the Waring-Sullivan Home at Rose E. Sullivan, 866 County Street, Somerset, MA 02726.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. All are welcome.
