Alan C. King, age 55 of Dartmouth, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2025 in St. Luke’s Hospital after a brief illness. He was the loving husband of Lisa (Ferreira) King, to whom he had been married for 26 years.

Alan has been a Paramedic/Firefighter for 37 years, most recently for the Town of Dartmouth in District 3, and previously worked as a Paramedic in the towns of Plymouth and Brookline. Alan was instrumental in the fire department achieving a licensed EMS service in 2009 and overlooked the EMS division for the department. He was also currently the Infectious Disease Control Officer and was the first President of the Dartmouth Permanent Firefighters District 3 Local 5156.
In 2008 Alan was elected by the voters of the Fire District to the District’s Prudential Committee. Serving on the Committee for nine years, Alan worked on many projects including the replacement of numerous fire apparatus and the funding and re-construction of the District’s Headquarters fire station which provided living quarters for the department’s expanding permanent workforce.

Although large in stature, he had a gentle heart and cared deeply for his family and friends. His quick wit, sharp sarcasm and sense of humor always brought a smile and a laugh.
