

Born in Sanford, ME, a son of the late John D. and Katherine (Donahue) Turcotte, David grew up in Somerset and was a lifelong area resident. A graduate of Bishop Stang High School, class of 1966, David received his Bachelor’s Degree from Boston College in 1970. In 1974, David graduated from Suffolk University Law School, and soon thereafter began his legal career in the New Bedford area. After serving first as a public defender and then assistant district attorney in Bristol County, David worked in private practice until 1994, when he was appointed Associate Justice to the Massachusetts Trial Court, District Court, where served until his retirement in April of 2012. Judge Turcotte served with the Massachusetts Army National Guard from 1970 to 1976.
In addition to his wife he is survived by one daughter: Caroline Turcotte (Steven Buttacavoli) of Cambridge, two grandchildren: Colin and Max Buttacavoli, and several nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Ellen Turcotte Borge.
Judge Turcotte's Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2016 from 4:00 to 6:30PM, with a Service at 6:30PM in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at DARTMOUTH, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth.
