Diane D. Fennessy

Diane D. (Marote) Fennessy, 78 of New Bedford, passed away Friday, April 18, 2025 in Charlton Memorial Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was the wife of Kevin P. Fennessy to whom she shared 58 years of loving marriage.

Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Seriphim and Alice (Vital) Marote. Diane was a graduate of the Greater New Bedford Vocational High School. She was employed as a paraprofessional for the City of New Bedford, working at the Parker, Gomes and Hayden McFadden schools prior to her retirement.

Mom’s heartbeat will be forever with us. The smiles while with her family say it all. The foundation she created, the sacrifices made, the time spent, the stories told, the sweaters knitted and her favorite, all of her adventures as Grandma, will all be held close and tight in our hearts. We Love You Mom.

In addition to her loving husband Kevin, she is survived by her children, Karen Arnold and her husband Glenn of Lakeville and Timothy Fennessy his longtime companion Gislene Luz of New Jersey; her siblings, Janice Abdelnor of Dartmouth and Leonard Marote and his wife Barbara of FL; and her three grandchildren Kevin A. Arnold, Kylie D. Arnold and Naomi P. Fennessy.
