

Emilio Lima Da Silva, 88, of Dartmouth, entered into eternal rest with the Lord on Friday, October 15, 2010 surrounded by his loving family at home. He was the husband of Maria L. (Silvana) Da Silva with whom he shared 63 years of marriage.
Born in Pico, Azores, the son of the late Manuel Jose and Amelia (De Jesus) Lima, he had resided in New Bedford for many years before moving to Dartmouth 6 years ago.
Mr. Da Silva worked in the textile industry until his retirement.
He was a hard working man who enjoyed being at home in the company of his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter, Maria Emilia Tavares and her husband Manuel Pedro of Dartmouth; two brothers, Antonio Lima and his wife Maria Otilia and Jaime Lima and his wife Dina all of New Bedford; a sister, Teresa Da Rosa of San Diego, CA; a granddaughter, Lisa Couto and her husband Paul of Dartmouth; a great grandson, Jacob Couto of Dartmouth; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Manuel Lima and Maria Amelia Lima and brother-in-law of the late Manuel Da Rosa.
His Funeral will be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at 8am from the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth followed by a Funeral Mass at 9am in St. John the Baptist Church, 344 County St., New Bedford.
