Frank W. Lima passed peacefully after a nearly ten-year battle with cancer, surrounded by family and friends. Throughout his illness, Frank showed remarkable perseverance and quiet determination. He experienced remission and lived long enough to reach milestones he had been holding on for, some of them for years. He made it to his daughter Paige’s wedding and became a grandfather to his daughter Caitlyn’s son, moments that meant everything to him.
Frank dedicated 39 years of his professional life to LaFrance Hospitality, where he was known for his loyalty, reliability, and strong work ethic. He took great pride in his work and in the relationships he built over nearly four decades.
Frank was a gifted musician who played the clarinet, saxophone, and cello. Music was a lifelong passion and a constant presence throughout his life.
Frank loved his family, his friends, his boat, his music, and the home he purchased in 1979 at 155 Cottage Street. The house was boarded up when he bought it, and he poured everything he had into restoring it to its original condition. He carefully preserved its original colors, wallpapers, and moldings, taking pride in every detail.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Lima (Aadland); his son, Michael Lima; his daughter, Caitlyn Lima and her fiancé, John Ferreira; his daughter Paige Aadland-Lessa and her wife, Ashley Aadland-Lessa; and his grandson, John Ferreira V; his mother, Helen Taylor; and he was preceded in death by his father, Frank Lima. He is also survived by his sister, Cathy DeSilva, and her husband, Vernon DeSilva, as well as his chosen brothers, Matthew Leite, Brian Durfee, and Brendon McHugh, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
He passed peacefully, surrounded by the people he loved most.
