Gertrude Sivee

Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Henry and Ellen (Ditchfield) Howard, she was a lifelong resident of the city.

Mrs. Sivee was a very active member of St. Martin’s Episcopal Church where she was involved with the altar guild. Her family was the center of her life and she cherished the time shared with her children and grandchildren. Gertrude's family would like to thank the Hawthorn Kidney Center for their care and compassion over the past several years.

She is survived by three daughters, Barbara Geneste and her husband Michael, Carolyn Pettey and her husband Stephen and Judith Santos all of New Bedford; four grandchildren, Nicole Senra and her husband John, Heather Kelly and her husband Kevin, Heidi Crabbe and her husband Tom and Elizabeth Johnson and her husband Michael; three great-grandsons, Tanner and Declan Kelly and Colton Crabbe; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Clifford Howard.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 from 4-7pm in the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth. Her funeral and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, 136 Rivet St., New Bedford, MA 02744.
