Helen A. Sudol

She was born July 2, 1925 to Mary (Sienko) and Jacob Sudol at home in East Hartford, CT and was raised in Bloomfield, CT, graduating from Bloomfield High School in 1943.

She lived her adult life in New York City and Stamford, CT, moving to South Windsor, CT in her later years. Helen was an executive secretary, retiring from GTE International, Finance, in 1985. She loved to read, travel, enjoying the food and culture, having visited Europe, Peru and as well as her beach vacations locally and in Hawaii, Florida and the Caribbean. She had a love of fiber arts as a knitter and crafter, knitting many complex patterned sweaters and women’s suits.

Helen is survived by her nieces and their husbands Barbara and Charles Cook of South Dartmouth, MA, Roxanne and John Castleman, of Stuart, FL, Joyce Edgar-Argudo and Edgar Argudo, of Colchester, CT, Lorraine Henry of Jupiter, FL, nephew, William Edgar of Vernon, CT, and many grandnieces, grandnephews, great grandnieces and great grandnephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Frank J Sudol of Terryville, CT, Walter H Sudol of Wethersfield, CT and Ann Edgar of Vernon, CT and grandnephew Sean Henry of Jupiter, FL.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude and thanks to the many caregivers at Brookdale, South Windsor who enriched her life in her later years and the Cottages of Dartmouth Village and Hanover Hospice who provided compassionate care in her final weeks.

There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial at St James Church and graveside service at St James Cemetery, Manchester, CT will be held at a later date.
