Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Frank Roque and Olinda (Roda) Roque, she was a lifelong resident of New Bedford and was employed by the New Bedford School Department as a Para Professional for 25 years, prior to her retirement.
Joyce loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed the beach, shopping, socializing with her friends and all animals.
She is survived by her children, David Monteiro and his wife Lois of Mattapoisett and Kim Monteiro of New Bedford; her grandchildren, Emalia and Cameron Monteiro and Amari Beltran.
