Mary "Mae" Poirier

Mary “Mae” Poirier, age 83, passed away Sunday, February 25 at her home. She was the wife of the late Ernest “Ernie” Poirier. Born in New Bedford she was the daughter of the late Antone and Mary DeMello.

She was a homemaker and loved taking care of her four daughters. She was a Freetown VFW Post 6643 member, enjoyed painting, drawing, traveling and country western dancing for 60 years. She loved visiting with out of town family.

She is survived by her four daughters: Shirley Kent and her husband Donald of Brewton, Alabama, Dianne Saucier and her husband Donald of New Bedford, Joanne De Campos and her husband Wesley of Hallowell, ME, Suzanne Adams and her fiancé Donald of Berkley, two sisters: Jeanette Glennon of Acushnet, Nancy Medeiros of Westport, a brother: Antone C. De Mello III of Middleboro, eight grandchildren: Donna Hadley, Angela Parker, Richard Pettit, Brian De Campos, Jason De Campos, Jessica De Brum, Joshua Adams, Rebecca Jardin, six great-grandchildren: Vinnie De Brum, Marina Pettit, Lucas Pettit, Gavin Hadley, Joshua Parker and Christopher Parker. She was the sister of the late Shirley Ann De Mello, grandmother of the late Donald Kent and Joshua Saucier and the great grandmother of the late Thomas Kent and Mitchell Hadley.

Her Visitation will be held Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 4-8pm. Her Funeral Mass will be held Friday, March 2, 2018 at 9 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Main Street, Fairhaven, MA. Burial Private.
