Robert J. Reid

Robert J. “Bob” Reid, 61, of Dartmouth, MA passed away Monday, February 20, 2012 at St. Luke’s Hospital following a long illness. He was the husband of Kathleen (Walsh) Reid with whom he shared 39 years of marriage.

Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, a son of Robert E. Reid and Genevieve (Olkewicz) Reid, he had resided in Bayonne, New Jersey for many years before moving to Dartmouth, MA in 1995.

He was a graduate of St. Aloysius High School and attended St. Peter’s College both in Jersey City. He served in the United States Army Reserves.

Mr. Reid was employed as a corporate controller for Lightolier now Philips where he began his career at the age of 18.

In his leisure time, Bob enjoyed fishing on his boat “My Three Sons”.

Surviving in addition to his wife and parents are his three sons, Kevin R. Reid and his wife Dana of Sea Girt, NJ, Chris M. Reid and his wife Bethany of S. Boston and Colin P. Reid of S. Boston; a brother, Gary Reid and his wife Judy of Beachwood, NJ; a niece Keri (Reid) McNally; grandchildren, Molly and Abigail Reid and a future granddaughter on the way. He was the brother of the late Dennis Reid.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 from 5-8PM in the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth and on Friday, February 24, 2012 from 5-8PM in the G. Keenen O’Brien Funeral Home, 984 Avenue C, Bayonne, New Jersey. His funeral mass will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 10AM in St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, 979 Avenue C, Bayonne, NJ.
