Albert Ritter Tomlinson, 89, of Cummaquid passed away on March 9, 2021 at home with his family by his side. He was born in Milton, MA on May 20, 1931 to the late Albert Ritter and Doris (Perry) Tomlinson.
He attended Green Briar Military Academy, Fork Union Military Academy. In 1949, he graduated from Mount Hermon and UMASS in 1953. He attended Columbia University and graduated with a Master’s degree in accounting.
He served in the Army as a First Lieutenant Tank Commander from 1953-1955. He had many accomplishments as a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Managerial Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, and Certified Financial Manager. He was the CEO of Accounting Educators Colligation.
He was a college professor at Bloomfield College for 35 years.
He loved skiing, sailing, travelling, animals, and playing chess. He got to travel with his daughter to 5 continents.
In 2002, he moved to Cummaquid.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Joyce (Hopkins) Tomlinson, his daughter, Carol Mattera and husband Christopher, his grandson, Joshua Mattera, his niece Deborah Gray and husband Albert, his nephew Randall Ketterman and wife Lori as well as many friends. Special thanks to his home health aide Kirsten Bell.
Visitation will be held on Saturday March 13, 2021 from 11 am -12 pm followed by a service beginning at 12 pm at Doane Beal and Ames, 729 Rt 134, South Dennis. Burial will be held at Central Cemetery, Middleboro, MA.
