Beloved by her husband of 52 years, Thomas J., loved and cherished mother to Thomas, F. and wife Beth (Uhler) of Hampstead, Maryland and Terence J. (TJ) and wife, Johanne (Mullen), of Plymouth, Mass., Grammy to Kelsey and TJ of Hampstead, Maryland and to her favorite puppy, Maggie, of Plymouth, Mass., Sister-in-law, Barb, to many and Auntie Barbara, to many nieces and nephews.
Born in Worcester, Mass., Barbara was the daughter of Michael and Genevieve Shea, both deceased along with her brother, John Shea. Barbara led an adventurous life with her husband, Tom and her two hockey-playing boys. As Tom accepted job transfers across the country, Barbara smiled with excitement and started packing with thoughts of visiting new places and meeting new friends. Barbara loved everywhere they lived and everyone she met. As a devoted wife, mother and admired homemaker, she volunteered with many charitable organizations.
In 1994, Barbara retired to Cape Cod with Tom, bringing joy to her family, friends and neighbors, all of whom were beneficiaries of her excellent baking skills & scrumptious desserts. Adorned with one of her memorable hats, she anticipated her & Tom’s daily trips to Sesuit Harbor. Her gentle soul and giving spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In celebration of Barbara’s life, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, Oct. 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Cape Church, 468 Stony Brook Rd. BREWSTER, Mass.
