Barbara Ann Pace (Improta), age 85 of Dennis, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at Cape Cod Hospital on April 17, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Her death occurred just two days after celebrating her 65th wedding anniversary with the love of her life, Anthony Pace.
Barbara was a Stamford, Connecticut native, graduating from Stamford High School in 1959. After marrying her high school sweetheart, she dedicated her life to her family and being a homemaker. Those closest to her lovingly referred to her as Bobbie, Beana and Gramma Doody. She was a night owl at heart, starting and ending her days with a cup of coffee and her favorite Pepsi in between. Every morning with her coffee, she enjoyed doing her daily crossword puzzles, always leaving the words she couldn’t get to her husband to complete. Barbara was an avid reader, especially when it came to World War II and Stephen King books. She loved playing card games, her favorites being Crazy Gin and Poker (for nickels, of course!). And let’s not forget the Mexican Train Domino game and all the stars she earned (or didn’t earn!). But of all the things she loved to do, she loved nothing more than spending time and making memories with her family, especially her two grandsons, whom she adored. Her many trips to visit them in Connecticut would always include tins of her famous cookies - Rocky Roads, Sugar Cookies and her own grandmother’s recipe for the traditional Italian Tarallis.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Anthony Pace, her daughter Doryann Pace Sabato and her husband Gary, her two grandsons Nicholas & Joey, all from Trumbull, CT; her brother Anthony Improta from Stamford, CT; her brother-in-law Joseph Pace (late wife Kathryn Pace) from Carefree, AZ and her nephew Joseph Pace from Panama City Beach, FL. She was predeceased by her parents, Margaret Graziano Improta and Anthony Improta.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Friday, May 1, 2026, at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 1056 Daniels Farm Road, Trumbull, Connecticut at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers and donations, please take the time to make a special memory with a loved one today. It was Barbara’s favorite thing to do.
