Born in Fitchburg, MA, he was the son of the late James Mazzilli and Rachel (Fortunato) Mazzilli.
Beloved husband of Rose E. (Bruno) Mazzilli and father of Danielle M. Mazzilli.
Carl grew up in Fitchburg, was an altar boy at St. Anthony’s Church, and graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1967. He was awarded 1st place in the D.E.C.A. award of the Sears Roebuck Foundation and received a letter of congratulations from Mayor George J. Burke. As the winner of the award, he was elected co-chairman of the decoration committee for the annual Thanksgiving dance. A man of many talents, he also played the flute. Upon graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed at Ft. Hood, Texas. Carl was honorably discharged as a Medic Staff 6 Sergeant. He went on to work for Procter & Gamble, retiring after 25 faithful years as a machinist.
Upon retiring, Carl loved to travel, play cribbage, go clamming and boating, woodworking, and most importantly being around people. He was the go-to guy in the neighborhood to help or fix, always teaching along the way. If you needed a tool, Carl would usually have it in his workshop. Carl and Rose were known as “Team Mazzilli” as they would build things together.
Carl was a kind, intelligent, loving, and giving person. He was fun to be around and always greeted people with a smile and respect. He will be remembered as being a true gentleman.
Brother of the late Mary Lou Brook of FL, in addition to his wife and daughter he is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and his sister Celia Eurillo of FL.
