Brewster, MA – Christopher J. “Corkey” Curtis passed away peacefully at home on Friday March 5th. He lived an amazing life of 56 years and spent his final days surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on July 31, 1964 in Fall River, MA to Charles and Maureen Curtis. A graduate of BMC Durfee High School in Fall River, Corkey matriculated at Worcester Polytechnic Institute where he followed his passion of mechanical engineering, leading to a career of 30+ years in the field. He was a brilliant engineer, having served as an operations executive for several companies within the power industry before starting his own engineering consulting practice, Breakwater Consulting.
Corkey was a truly selfless man, in the early stages of his cancer diagnosis, he founded Team Cork Inc., a 501(c)(3) charity focused on helping cancer patients in need of financial and emotional support. Through Corkey’s leadership, Team Cork Inc. has donated over $110,000 to cancer patients in need.
Corkey married the love of his life, Justine “Tina” (Belluche), in January 1990. They lived a beautiful life together, raising two sons in the town of Ashland, MA before realizing their lifelong dream of purchasing a home on Cape Cod in Brewster where Corkey and his family spent their happiest moments.
Corkey is survived by his loving wife Justine “Tina” Curtis of Ashland and Brewster, his two sons Christopher A. and Patrick both of Boston, his sister Nancy Curtis-Kenney and her husband David Kenney of Somerset, his brother Brad Curtis and his wife Andrea Curtis of Dartmouth, as well as numerous loved ones within both the Curtis and Belluche families.
