Doris G. McCarthy age 90 died on March 13, 2011 surrounded by her loving family. She lived much of her life in the Braintree Quincy Area. For over 50 years she worked at the Dental Associates of Quincy. Doris moved to the Cape with her family six years ago. She was an avid reader, enjoyed birding in her back yard and shopping whether on QVC or at Talbots. She loved life and took an interest in what was happening in the world, had an independent spirit and pride, and felt joy in reliving the experiences told by friends. She is predeceased by her husband James McCarthy. Doris is survived by her daughter, Judith McCarthy, daughter in-law, Suzanne Kenney, her extended family, Octavia Ossola, Elizabeth Gordon, Joanne Falzone, RoseMarie and Thomas Kenney as well as her beloved pets, Raven and Ziggy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Project Place, 1145 Washington Street, Boston, MA 02118. A celebration of her life will be held on April 30 from 1:00-3:00 pm at the family home.
