Gertrude "Trudy" (Upton) Boisvert

Though Trudy passed on Easter Sunday, April 20th at 12:12 PM due to an illness after a stroke, her spirit moved forward into a new dawn. Born in Wareham, MA on May 14, 1951, she grew up in Onset and attended Barnstable High School from 1965-1969. Trudy worked at CCB & T, Cape Cod Bank & Trust, as a Senior Representative from 1986-2007. She loved life and had a lot of friends. Trudy is survived by her husband Dale Boisvert married September 8, 1990, her children Carrie Long and favorite son in law Timothy Long of Dennis, MA, Jason Downing and daughter in law Teena Ellis-Downing of Yarmouth, MA, and Jerry Downing Jr., and daughter in law Tracy (Philbrick) Downing of Holden, ME. She is also survived by the father of her 3 children, Gerald “Skip” Downing, her grandchildren, Alyssa Downing of Osterville, MA, Kevin Downing of Yarmouth, MA, Michael Long of Dennis, MA, Abigail Downing of Holden, ME and Parker Downing of Holden ME. She also leaves behind her siblings George Upton, Michael Upton, Richard Upton, James Upton and Frank Upton as well as many nieces and nephews whom she adored. She is predeceased by her mother Mary (Tonge) Upton and her sister Lisa Jorgenson.

Trudy loved life and was known for her wisdom, courage, compassion and wittiness. She was also known for her baking skills, celebrations with friends and family and her themed Christmases. Her favorite vacation spot was Cancun. She enjoyed music including Garth Brooks and U2. “What doesn’t kill you makes your stronger” and Patience is a virtue” were her favorite sayings.
