

Leola "Lee" Levasseur was born Oct. 1, 1927 to Alford and Ida (Frasier) Michaud in Rochester, NY. She was the eldest of four children. Leola is predeceased by her brother Timothy Michaud of Van Buren, ME. She is survived by her brother Phillip R. Michaud of Belle Meade, NJ and her sister Lorraine (Michaud) Fournier Thayer of S. Yarmouth, MA.
Leola married Daniel Levasseur, they eventually re-settled to their hometown of Van Buren, ME where they worked and lived until their move to Brewster, MA. Leola and Daniel raised four children. Daniel worked at several local auto body shops until he opened his own shop. Leola also worked outside the home as time allowed selling Avon products and eventually working as office staff and bookkeeper for All Cape Plumbing in S. Yarmouth, MA. When that business closed she worked part time for other local businesses as bookkeeper and secretary until she was hired by the Brewster Water Department where she worked for 22 years as assistant clerk. Upon her retirement, she spent her time doting on her grandchildren and spending hours tending to her flowers and yard work.
Leola was predeceased by her husband Daniel in 1997. She is survived by her four children, Patrick of Auburn, ME, Gregory & his wife Mary of Brewster, MA, Dominic & his wife Leah of Sammamish, WA and Pamela Barrio & her husband Dennis of Plymouth, MA; her brother Philip R. Michaud and her sister Lorraine (Michaud) Fournier-Thayer. Leola is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Adam Levasseur, Kimberly (Levasseur) Franklin & her husband Ludlow of Elmhurst, IL, Daniel and Matthew Levasseur of Brewster, MA, Tiffanie Daugherty, Alex and Ian Levasseur of Sammamish, WA and Michael and Jeannine Barrio of Plymouth, MA. She is also survived by her five great-grandchildren Christian and Grace DeRussy-Levasseur of NY, NY, Ella and Collette Franklin of Elmhurst, IL and Savanah Hammond of Sammamish, WA.
Visiting hours will be Friday, December 18, 2015 from 2-4pm & 6-8pm at Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home 729 Route 134 S. Dennis, MA 02660. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11am Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Our Lady of the Cape Catholic Church in Brewster, interment will immediately follow at Brewster Memorial Cemetery on Lower Road. A celebration of her life will follow at the parish center of Our Lady of the Cape Catholic Church.
