Marianne “Who Who” died peacefully with her family on December 14th after a short battle with cancer. Everyone that knew her would say that she was a fun, loving, giving, spirited, full of life person, who made friends wherever she went. Two of her greatest attributes were her sense of humor, and a great laugh.
She was born in 1930 in East Harford Connecticut to Lillian and Herman Tiemann. She grew up in East Hartford and later moved with her family to Manchester, CT. She always had great stories about growing up in a big family during the depression: 5 cent movies, making butter and getting an orange for Christmas. She went to the University of Connecticut and graduated with a degree in Physical Education and later earned her Masters at the University of North Carolina. In 1954 she taught in Southport, CT. and then later at Cornell. While in Southport she was introduced to Francis B. Sellers, and in 1958, they were married in the Congregational church in Manchester, CT. For 36 years they made their home in Sudbury, MA. She was an entrepreneur who owned a consignment shop “The Corner Closet” and a salad cart. They moved to South Yarmouth, MA in 2000, where she enjoyed yard sales, watching her pink flamingos “the girls” float, lunch at the beach, sitting on her dock looking at the birds on the Bass River, and cheering on her grandsons at their baseball games. When reflecting about life she said “I tried.”
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers Newell and George and sister Grace. She will be watching over those that loved her including: her husband of 52 years, daughter and son in law Elizabeth and Tom Andrade and their two children Zachary and Benjamin of Dennis, Ma, and her son Tom Sellers, of Framingham, MA. She will also be leaving a very large and loving extended family. Her brothers Tony and Howard Tiemann, sisters in law, grand Aunt Fran, many nieces and nephews, friends and the “fat farm”.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Cape Cod, Mary our aide, and Lorraine who were our angels.
A celebration of her life will be held on January 8th, 11:00 at the Dennis Union Church.
