Born in Pawtucket, R.I., the son of the late William and Irma (Demers) Gleason, Mark was raised in Mansfield and was a 1961 graduate of Coyle-Cassidy High School and went on to study at Wentworth Technical Institute and the New England Fuel Institute. In 1974 Mark founded Brewster Burner Service and built a reputation of superior service. He loved people, the New England Patriots, golf, fishing, lawn tractors, and making people laugh. A perfect day for Mark was sitting by the pool with family and friends. He enjoyed being a member of the Brewster Sportsman's Club.
He was the beloved husband of Sharon A. (Szabo) Gleason of Brewster; devoted father of Shane Gleason and his wife Robin of South Dennis, and the late Mark Anthony Gleason; cherished grandfather of Tyler Gleason and his wife Erin of Abington, Jacob Gleason of Dorchester, and Kayly Gleason of South Dennis; and dear brother of Arthur Gleason of Norfolk, Irma Marie Sherman of Brewster and the late William Gleason. Mark is also survived by his beloved canine companion “Rudy” and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Mark’s life will be held on Sunday, May 11, 2025 from 1-4 PM at the Doane, Beal, & Ames Funeral Home, 729 Rt. 134, South Dennis. A short service will be held at 3 PM.
