Rose P. Wilde

SANDWICH and BREWSTER, MA - Rose P. (Egasti) Wilde, 95, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2019, at Cape Heritage Nursing Home in Sandwich. She was the wife of the late Robert E. Wilde and is survived by her daughter, Barbara Morrill and her partner Michael Benjamin of Bowdoinham, ME and her son, Robert E. Wilde, Jr. and his wife Corinne of Sagamore Beach, MA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Ashley Bunker and her husband Adam, Elizabeth Sensor and her husband Josh, and James Morrill, four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Rose, born and raised in Wellesley, was the daughter of the late Joseph and Louise (Maccini) Egasti, and was predeceased by two brothers, Primo Egasti and Victor Egasti and three sisters, Mary Nelpi, Angelina Balboni and Eleanor Donovan. After graduating from Wellesley High School, Rose enjoyed working at the Mahogany Shop in Wellesley Square. She also volunteered at Leonard Morse Hospital and was an active member of the Womens’ Sodality at St. Linus church.

Rose was a devoted wife and mother. She met Bob while he was recuperating from injuries he suffered in World War II and they enjoyed 64 years of married life. They raised their family in Natick and built a home in Brewster where each summer they enjoyed spending time with family and friends. They loved playing bridge, entertaining, and playing golf together at the Captains Course.

Her family and friends remember Rose as a vibrant, strong woman who enjoyed life. She will also be remembered for her generosity and hospitality.

Friends and relatives are invited to a funeral mass on Saturday, March 16 at 1:00 PM at Our Lady of the Cape, 468 Stony Brook Road, Brewster, MA. Burial will be private. Donations in Rose’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
