Hey man, in a sad place rn just wanna say i still love and miss you bud. Thanks for being there with me im so grateful i met you. Ive learned since youve been gone life is so beautiful but it hurts really bad sometimes, sometimes my fault, but still i Wish i could talk to you sometimes when im sad. Today I remembered you rather out of the blue. I miss your huge grin and your crazy laughter, especially on the bus rides to and from school, I'd always laugh until my stomach hurt. To this day you hold an important place in my childhood memories and in my heart, I'll never forget you.

Lydia and family, I am so sad to hear of your great loss. Hugs to you all. I remember Alanzo most for his radiant smile and bundles of energy. He will be missed!

Escape

You escaped to us
I'll never know why

But we had to try.

At my sister's camp at Christmas
A big happy dog.
unconditional love. Escape.
by the burning log.
 
I opened the silverware drawer.
Found a warm mouse-nest! 
(it is the woods...)
Mom and babies 
Leave? Move? Kill!?
Some worried rabies.
We debated long what to do.
I opened again.
Mouse, nest, and babies gone!

Escape.

Later I opened the pot-drawer
Down beneath.
We saw the relocated brood.
We bit our tongues
Made the mouse-escape good.

We'd escape to the store
Walk to Menard's
Exchange your allowance
for a case of sweet diet soda.

But your escape couldn't last
No such joy
Now only remains the past.
Goodbye my boy.

Lydia, our deepest sympathy goes out to you and your family.  Alanzo's energy was contagious and his kindness, authentic.  Even though the boys lost touch over the last year, Alanzo was a great friend to Isaac and Isaac has some amazing memories to take from the fun they had together.  There was always so much laughter when he was around. 
 We are sending healing and clarity to you and your family as you try to move forward.  
Alanzo, your life was cut too short. Thank you for sharing your smile and inquisitive perspective on the world. You were a child that was wise beyond your age. Rest in peace my friend....xo!

It makes me sad to hear that you have died. You were always happy and had the biggest smile on your face. Everyone at Fernwood is sad knowing that someone who they loved has died. We were all in great shock when we heard. You always made people laugh and smile. You laughed at everything. You may not have been able to see it but there were so many people who loved to be around you. You were and still are loved. My condolences are sent to your family. May you Rest In Peace.

Dear Alanzo, a dear good friend and family member. Since the first time I met you, to the last time we played outside, you have always seemed so happy and outgoing. Even through all the dark times that things went wrong, you always kept peoples moods up. this is to such a good and sweet friend. I remember you had a crush on me, and I thought it was the cutest thing ever. You were so nice and caring. I appreciate you always coming out to the park with me and playing basketball. You were so fun to hang out with. When I heard of the terrible news, I was so sad and mad and all of the memories rushed back to me. It is still hard to think about and I will never forget about you.

May you rest in eternal peace, Alanzo. I remember when we were both in Mrs. Abigail's class together. You were always so sweet and funny. I remember when you had your mother knit me a scarf. It was such a sweet gesture and I appreciated it so much. You were always so kind to everyone, always spreading happiness within the school. You may be gone, but you will never be forgotten. We will all miss you very much.
