Sue, Margaret, and family, my prayers and thoughts are with all of you during this terrible loss.  Dan was an amazing person and I was very blessed to meet and care for someone that could brighten up anyones day.  May God bless you all with the strength to get through this saddened time and help remember the great times spent with Dan!

Sue, my thoughts are with you at this difficult time

My wife Deanna, our sons, and I express our deepest sympathy to Uncle Dan's family and friends.

I hold close fond childhood memories of Uncle Dan.  I remember being excited to greet him at the front door to give him a hug.  I especially remember being comforted by his kind and gentle manner.  Just yesterday my wife and son expressed memories of Uncle Dans kind and courteous manner.  

I have a deep appreciation of men and women who served in the military before me.  Especially those who grew up during the great depression and served our country during WWII and the Korean Conflict.  What Uncle Dan's generation endured growing up and sacrificed in their service to our country remains a powerful call to military service today. The service of Uncle Dan's generation, "The Greatest Generation" will forever be ingrained in the traditions of our military.  

Thinking back on my fond childhood memories of Uncle Dan, it's through my years of service and I'm incredibly humbled and moved.  A plaque in my office means much more to me today.  It reads, "Success ... To win the respect of intelligent people and affection of children."  Uncle Dan will forever have my affection and respect.  From the toil and sacrifice of "The Greatest Generation," we were blessed with the miracle of a kind and gentle man.
