
Her lifelong love of nature led her to Carleton College, in Northfield, MN, receiving a degree in natural science, which served her in later years as an active member of the Upper Moreland Parks and Recreation Board where she advocated for the preservation of natural areas in the parks. She loved sharing her knowledge with young people as a Girl Scout leader of Troop 784. An early advocate of organic gardening, she maintained a productive garden throughout her residence in Willow Grove.
Charlotte was the beloved wife of Theodore K. Thomas for 59 years before his death in 2011. Both were active volunteers and supporters of the Pennypack Watershed Association and Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge, after retiring to the Island of Chincoteague VA.
She was a former employee of Strawbridge & Clothier in Jenkintown and the IRS in Philadelphia.
She was the devoted mother of Nadine R. Thomas of New York, NY and the late William Thomas, and sister of the late Mowry E. Goetz, Jr
Relatives and friends are invited to her memorial service at 11 am on July 11 at the Briar Bush Nature Center , 1212 Edge Hill Rd, Abington, PA 19001.
