She was a long time resident of the Philadelphia and Southampton, Pennsylvania area. Darlene was born on December 3, 1961 in Philadelphia, PA, to parents, Robert Pinkney, Sr and Claudine Pinkney. She graduated from William Tennent High School in 1980. She studied music at the Philadelphia College of the Arts following high school. Darlene had a great love for the geriatric population and continued her education as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). She worked for many years in various nursing home facilities and rehabilitation centers in the Philadelphia area.
Darlene loved music. She was an accomplished vocalist, singing in church ensembles and performing for her family & friends. She especially loved singing praise music. Darlene also loved animals. She adopted many cats and dogs over the years. Most importantly, Darlene loved Jesus! She loved singing to Him and about Him. She loved talking about her faith and sharing it with others. Those who knew and loved her can rest in their assurance that she is wrapped in the arms of her Savior.
Darlene was preceded in death by Robert Pinkney, Sr-Father; Claudine Pinkney- Mother; Renee Pinkney-Jackson – Sister & (her husband) Robert Leroy Jackson, Sr – Brother-in-law.
Darlene is survived by Donald & Nancy Konopka – Parents; Donald Konopka, Jr- Brother; Mary Konopka- Sister; Luanne & Barry Hurt- Sister & Brother-in-law; Christopher & Lisa Konopka- Brother & Sister-in-law; Carol & Jim Griffiths- close friends; Michelle & John Johnston- close friends; Robert Pinkney- Brother; Charles Pinkney- Brother; Calvin Pinkney- Brother and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for Thursday, September 9, 2021 at 10:00am at Calvary Chapel of Philadelphia at 13500 Philmont Avenue, Philadelphia, Pa.
