Francis W. Jackson III

He was a long-time resident of Southampton Estates. Francis Jackson was born on November 5, 1929 in Brockton MA, to parents, Francis (Frank) Jackson and Mary (Goeres) Jackson. He graduated from Brockton High School in 1948. He continued his education, graduating from Northeastern University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1952; later obtaining a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Delaware. Francis went on to establish a career as a Mechanical Engineer, working for General Electric in their Aerospace Division for over 35 years. Additionally, Mr. Jackson served in the United States Air Force for 20 years between active and reserve time, reaching the rank of Major.

He spent his free time reading, watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up and advance in life. He also spent time exploring ways for combustion engines to obtain greater fuel efficiency, and after retirement he and wife Margret Jackson traveled the world by air and sea.

Francis Jackson was preceded in death by spouses, Dolores (Sulpizio) Jackson and Margret (Smith) Jackson. He was also predeceased by his parents, Frank Jackson and Mary Jackson, older sister, Mary (Jackson) Giovanoni, niece, Mary (Giovanoni) Mattax, and nephew, Richard Giovanoni Jr.

Francis Jackson is survived by his son, Francis (Frank) William Jackson, daughter-in-law, Linda Rose Jackson, son, Barton (Bart) Kenneth Jackson, stepson, Christopher (Chris) Pratt, stepdaughter, Kimberly (Kim) Webb, and son-in-law, Richard Webb. He is also survived by nine grandchildren: Jamie Jackson, Sarah (Jackson) Nuualiitia, Rachel (Jackson) Stunzi, Brian Jackson, Danielle (Jackson) Walsh, Jonathan Jackson, Stephen Pratt, Stephanie Webb, and Jennifer Webb. Additionally, he is survived by ten great grandchildren: Jessica (Jamie Jackson) Dawson, Olina Nuualiitia, Isiah Nuualiitia, Kayla Rose Stunzi, David Stunzi, Hunter Stunzi, Jackson Stunzi, Jo Walsh, Rose Walsh, and Emma Rose (Jonathan) Jackson. Lastly, he is also survived by one great-great grandson, Michael (Dawson) Serody, a brother-in-law, the late Richard Giovanoni (dod 6-5-22) nieces: Roxanne (Sulpizio) Hoag, Denise (Sulpizio) Altrip, Linda (Giovanoni) Heffernan and nephews: Lawrence (Sulpizio) Hoag, Father Peter Giovanoni, and Stephen Giovanoni.
