

Harvey L Raab died on Thursday March 1, 2012, at the Barclay Friends Nursing in West Chester. He was 88 years of age. Born in Ivyland, PA, he was the son of the late Harvey W. and Ellen E. Finney Raab. Harvey had lived in West Chester for the past 2 years; he had previously been a longtime resident of the Willow Grove – Hatboro area.
Harvey was a graduate of Hatboro High School, Class of 1941. He was the president of the Senior Class and was named Athlete of the Year in 1941.
Mr. Raab was a retired employee of SPS Technology’s in Jenkintown. He was an active member of the Ivyland Presbyterian Church and involved in the Church’s Bible Study group. Harvey was a former Boy Scout Master and coached baseball in the Upper Moreland Little League, Colt League and American Legion. He was an avid outdoors man. He enjoyed hunting and fishing at the family lodge in Bushkill, PA.
Harvey was the beloved husband of Madeline D. Raab for 65 years. He was the devoted father of Ronald (Eileen) Raab of West Chester and Patricia R. (Gerald) Petre of Dover Fox Craft, ME. He was the loving grandfather of Rebecca Sullivan, Jeremy Petre, Dr. David, Jason, and Christian Raab, Erin Taggart and Jillian Raab; great grandfather of Ethan and William Raab, Michael and Molly Taggart, and Patrick Sullivan.
Relatives and friends are invited to his service 11 AM on Monday, March 5, 2012 at the Wm. Rowen Grant Funeral Home, Street Road & 2nd Street Pike, Southampton, PA 18966. The families will receive friends from 9 AM until the time of service. His interment will follow in Union Cemetery in Richboro.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ivyland Presbyterian Church, 51 Gough Ave., Ivyland, PA 18974.
