Paul Simonetti

Paul was born on January 24, 1934 in Altoona, Pennsylvania, to parents, Ugolino and Maria Simonetti. He graduated from Altoona Catholic High School in 1952. He continued his education, earning his Undergraduate Degree from Penn State University, and a Masters Degree from the University of Delaware in Chemical Engineering. Paul went on to establish a career as a Computer Analyst, working for Burroughs/Unisys for over 30 years. In addition, at the end of his career, Paul served as an administrative assistant in the Bryn Athyn Church Pastors office for another decade. During this time he was very prolific with graphic design projects, creating programs and signs for the Bryn Athyn Community Theater (BAct), The Bryn Athyn Orchestra, and other organizations .

Paul was a member of the Corporation of the Academy of the New Church and served as a board member for many years. He participated in many community programs such as the Church Choir, Laurel Leaf Academy, and Sunrise. He also earned a certificate from the Psychosynthesis Center at Pinebrook, and edited their monthly newsletter for 6 years.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his 2 brothers, Geno and Patrick.

Paul is survived by his wife of 66 years, Beryl Simonetti, 4 children, Linda Odhner, Cara Furgiuele, Neil Simonetti and Nina Simonetti, and 6 grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Bryn Athyn Cathedral (900 Cathedral Road, Bryn Athyn, PA 19009) at 3pm on Sunday October 15, 2023. Rev. Ray Silverman will officiate. The Service will be livestreamed at www.brynathynchurch.org/memorial. There will be a gathering at the Brickman Center immediately following the service (2945 College Drive, Bryn Athyn, PA 19009).
