Amelia Dinapoli McKay

Amelia was born in Newburgh, New York to Nicholas and Genieve Dinapoli on June 12,1938. She graduated from Newburgh Free Academy in 1956 and then attended The University of New Paltz, graduating in 1958 with an associate degree in business. She then married Robert A. McKay on April 24, 1960. She worked as an accounting supervisor at West Point Academy, retiring in 1992. Amelia loved to travel, crochet blankets and spend time playing slots at casinos.

She was preceded in death by her husband,Robert A. McKay , her parents and siblings, Manuel Dinapoli, Mary Domenicucci, Quintino Dinapoli and Joseph Dinapoli, nephew.

Amelia is survived by children,Michael McKay (Jaymie),Anne Marie McKay, and Joanne Jagadeesan (Ram). She had 5 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, April 21,2023 at Saint Catherine of Sienna Parish at noon in Wake Forest, NC. Burial will follow at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens, Wake Forest,NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

The family of Amelia, would like to thank Terra Bella of Southport’s caring staff, Dr. Domenic Palagruto and Amedisys Hospice Care for loving care given to her at the end of her life.
