

He was born on June 3, 1960 to the late Raymond Walter Van Noordt and Joan Delores Van Noordt in Morris County, New Jersey.
Brett was a graduate of Otter Valley Union High School '78 and Norwich University '82 where he was a member of the Corps of Cadets and he achieved a B.S. in Business Administration. After graduation he had a short stint at the Franklin County Sheriff's Department as a deputy sheriff in Saint Albans, Vermont. Afterwards, he accepted a position as a patrolman with the Milton Police Department where he became the Chief of Police until his retirement in 2017 with 30+ years of service. Brett was an avid golfer and snow skier. He was a member of the Champlain Country Club in Saint Albans, Vermont. He enjoyed spending time in Caswell Beach, North Carolina with Gloria, family, and friends. Brett was known for his practical jokes and great sense of humor.
Those left to cherish his memory are his companion, Gloria J Lyford; brothers, Todd Van Noordt (wife, Candy), Ross Van Noordt (wife, Debi Price), Glenn Van Noordt (wife, Wendy), and Scott Van Noordt (wife, Elizabeth); and numerous nieces and nephews.
He will be remembered at a private memorial service.
