

Mr. Williamson was born November 12th 1946 in Beaufort County, NC. He was a veteran of the US Army having served two tours in Vietnam with the Special Forces. Mr. Williamson worked 33 years in law enforcement. He was a former police officer with the Southport, Fayetteville, Hope Mills and Oak Island Police Departments. He served as a Deputy Sheriff with Beaufort and Cumberland Counties. Mr. Williamson worked narcotics, served on the SWAT team, and organized the SCUBA dive team with the Hope Mills Police Department. He worked special missions in Israel for two years and with the Military Ocean Terminal – Sunny Point after his retirement. Mr. Williamson loved his family, to hunt and fish, his dogs, motorcycles, and SCUBA diving. He was a preceded in death by his parents; Charles and Thelma Williamson and Garland Warlick Kellum.
Surviving is his wife of 31 years, Judy Williamson; four sons, Chuck Williamson III and wife Kelly of Grifton, Hal Canady of Honolulu, HI, Wayne Canady of Parkton, and Darrell Thomas and wife April of Greenville; a honorary daughter Stephanie Blasingame of Leland; four sisters, Susan Flake and husband JW of Greenville, Kelly Marchant and husband Terry, and Lisa Graves and husband Randy all of Alabama; and Kay Minter of Tennessee; two brothers Brian Kellum and Danny Kellum and wife Ann all of Alabama; seven grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Generations Church in Southport with Rev. Troy Knight officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 to 3:00 pm.
