Mr. Windham was born May 17, 1931, in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Charles Edward Windham Sr. and Doris Keim Windham. He graduated from Sewickley High School in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Mr. Windham attended Drexel University and was a Professional Civil Engineer. He had lived for the past 17 years on Oak Island, where he was a member of First Baptist Church of Oak Island.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Doris Windham; a son, Steven Windham and wife Tammy of Winchester, Virginia; a daughter, Krista Emmert and husband Joseph of Spring, Texas; a brother, Jim Windham and wife Dolly of Lititz, Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Mr. Windham was preceded in death by two sisters and a son-in-law, Cdr. Jon Rystrom.
The family will hold a private service.
