In addition to his mother of Greenville, SC, he is survived by a long-time friend Mary Francis Stoker, cousins Robin (Randy) Scott Blackburn of Greenville, SC, True Ray (Richard), Judy Shearon Bice (Tim) of Richmond, Linda Shearon Wistrand (Harry), Marie Shearon Bailey (Steward) and James Shearon (Pat) He proudly served in the United States Navy, active and reserves and then had a long career in construction. Chris was a craftsman, gifted artist, steam train, and history buff, as well as an accomplished landscaper/gardener and took great pride in the creativity and details of his work, which was evident. He also loved nature and all animals.
A memorial service will be held at 11am Monday at the Oak Island Beach cabana at 46th St. SE.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to S.O.A.R. (Southport- Oak Island Animal Rescue).
