Diane P. Borawski Cavanagh

Diane was born in New Jersey to Joseph and Mary Borawski. Diane was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Thomas Cavanagh.

She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Harp and husband Dennis of Belville, NC; her son, Thomas Cavanagh IV of Spartanburg, SC; her two grandchildren, Matthew and Samantha Harp; sister, Geraldine Jones of WIlmington, NC; and sister-in-law, Marralee Borawski of Fort Wayne, IN.

Diane graduated from Somerset Hospital School of Nursing, in Somerville, NJ. She worked full time as a medical / surgical nurse while completing her Bachelors of Science in Nursing at Seton Hall University in NJ.

As the wife of an Air Force Officer, Diane had many opportunities to work in various fields of nursing. As they traveled throughout the United State and Europe, upon retirement, the Cavanagh's moved to Boiling Spring Lakes, NC. Diane worked at the Brunswick County Health Department as a child lead immunization nurse. She was an instructor at Brunswick Community College in the certified nursing program, an examiner for the state in the CNA program. Ending her career as a nurse volunteer at the New Hope Clinic in Boiling Spring Lakes. Retiring at the age of 80.

No services will be held.

The family is recommending donations to the SECU Hospice House of Brunswick, 955 Mercy Lane, Bolivia, NC 28422.
