Mr. Lewis was born October 9, 1927 in the Boones Neck community of Brunswick County. He was the son of the late Samuel Washington Lewis and Pet Davis Lewis. Mr. Lewis was retired from the Cape Fear River Pilots Association. He was a very proud man who loved his family memorial. He enjoyed bird watching, and watching golf with his favorite player being Phil Mickelson.
Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by his wife Jean Marie Lewis, who passed away in 2001 and a son Daniel Floyd Lewis, who passed away in 2010. He was also preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include his two daughters, Bonnie Lee Lewis and Debra Ann Lewis, granddaughter Amanda Hannel and husband Jeremy, and a great-granddaughter Aria Hannel.
In accordance with Mr. Lewis’ wishes no services will be held.
