Fred (Bubba) Alonzo Jones

Fred A. Jones Sr., “Bubba”, son of the late Lela Geneva Wilson Johnson and Fred Jones, was born October 10, 1943 and entered eternal rest on March 29, 2017 at New Hanover Hospital in Wilmington, North Carolina. Fred received his education in Southport at BCT School. He received Christ under the ministry of Elder Martin and Minister Helen Ballard.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Betty S. Jones, two daughters, Adina Jones and Regina Jones, two sons, Fred Jones Jr. (Rosanna) and Christopher Jones; three granddaughters, Christina, Majesty, and Catherine; siblings Brenda M. Gillis, Shelia Wilson, Sharon Johnson, Julius Johnson, Ronnie Johnson (Renee) all of the Baltimore, Maryland area, Calvin Johnson (Celestine) of Atlanta, Georgia, Kenneth Jones of Wilmington, North Carolina, Lora Singleton of Houston, Texas, and Gloria Johnson Rahway of New Jersey; three aunts Addie McCracken, Catherine Hill, and Lillie Thompson of the Southport area, two aunts of Wilmington, Edie Jones, and Freda Jones, six sister’s in laws, two brother in laws, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, several extended family members and a host of friends, he was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, April 3, 2017 in the Peacock - Newnam & White Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will be in the Northwood Cemetery.
