Mr. Fitzpatrick was born March 3, 1930, son of the late Eugene and Marguerite MacDonald Fitzpatrick. He worked as a writer for The Charlotte Observer before retirement.
Survivors include his loving wife, Veda Doss of Oak Island; son, Christo Doss Fitzpatrick of Monroe; three brothers, Eugene Fitzpatrick, David Fitzpatrick, and Richard Fitzpatrick; and one grandson, Caleb Kiran Pike.
A memorial service will be 3:00pm Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Peacock-Newnam & White Funeral Home Chapel. Inurnment will be in Cape Fear Memorial Park.
