She was born on September 8, 1953 to the late Leon George Johnson and Hazel Johnson in New Hanover County, North Carolina.
Geraldine really enjoyed her second home on the river, making breakfast in the mornings and spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her son, Ricky Dean Varnam; sister, Francis Autry.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Charles Edward Varnam; son, Jerry Edward Varnam; stepdaughters, Jill Ham (husband, John) and Holly Pelton; grandchildren, Megan Ashley Varnam, Haley Leanne Varnam; brother, Ernest Johnson; sister, Edith Spivey.
