Mrs. Caroon was born November 19, 1932 in Lowland, NC the daughter of the late Kelly and Adelaide Ross. She was valedictorian of her senior class. She and her husband established CB Caroon Crab Company in 1965. Mrs. Caroon was a member of the Oak Island Golf Club where she had been the Women’s Club Champion; she also had four hole in one’s. Mrs. Caroon will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother; she loved God and had very strong family ties.
Survivors include her four sons, Donald Caroon and wife Hazel of Aurora, NC, Lionel Caroon and special friend Sue Orr, Keith Caroon and wife Terry, and Adam Caroon and wife Dorothy all of Southport; a sister Velma Murdock of Hampstead; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-greatgrandchild. Mrs. Caroon was preceded in death by her husband Cash Caroon and a son Ross Caroon.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, August 13, 2017 in the Northwood Cemetery. The family will have visitation from 2:00 to 2:45 pm at
Peacock – Newnam & White Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Liberty Hospice.
