Mr. Parker was born September 8, 1931 in Charlotte, North Carolina, the son of the late Virgil and Blanche Parker. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and worked for Armour Food Company / Conagra Corporation for a total of 35 yrs., retiring as National Processed Meat Manager and retired to Oak Island in 1989. He was a lifetime members of the Oak Island Golf Club; when not playing golf, Jim enjoyed woodworking.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Ellen Parker, a son Tim Parker, six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Jim was preceded in death by a son, James Clark Parker, Jr. and a brother Larry Parker.
At Jim’s request, there will be no services; instead, he would want you to play 18 holes and think of him.
